6 Easter DIY Décor Hacks

Easter is always celebrated against a backdrop of pastel colours and the greenery of spring. It’s wonderful to have these cheerful hues in your home after a long snowy winter. And, many Easter DIY projects give us the opportunity to make them part of the décor, so let’s get started!

 New Twists on Easter Traditions

  1. String Easter Eggs: What would Easter be without an Easter tree? Yet, dyed eggs may look a bit tired if that’s what you’ve done year after year. Make 2018 the year of string Easter eggs instead! These elegant ornaments are fun to make and look great.
  1. Easter Egg Flower Pots: Easter always means fresh flowers and plants. However, instead of displaying them in traditional containers, why not make your own? These plastic Easter egg flower pots are cute, colourful, and so simple to create that you’ll have an amazing centerpiece in no time.
  1. Burlap Easter Bunnies: On April 1st, the Easter bunny will play a starring role in most décor schemes. And, while rabbit stuffies are cute, these burlap bunnies are a great alternative that you and your kids can make together.

Unforgettable Easter Garlands

  1. Felt Carrot Garland: Your burlap Easter bunnies would love a carrot or two, and these felted ones are sure to delight all your family and friends. A bit of sewing is required, but this charming felt carrot garland is definitely worth the effort!
  1. Easter Egg String Lights: When the sun goes down, this garland is going to light up the Easter night! It’s also a great excuse to use those Christmas lights you may or may not have taken down. Grab some plastic eggs, a drill, and a block of wood, and you’ll have your very own Easter egg string lights.
  1. Yarn Chick Garland: We can’t forget about the yellow chicks that help put the adorable into Easter. And, “adorable” is definitely the right word to describe this yarn chick garland! This is another great project to do with your children, and make everyone say “aw”.

Happy Easter, everyone!

6 Easter DIY Décor Hacks

Bunnies, yellow chicks, chocolate eggs, and spring flowers—what would Easter be without them? Yet, sometimes the cost of celebrating this holiday can take the fun out of it. Easter doesn’t have to break the bank, though. Here are five great ways to save money this Easter and still have a great time!

Create Your Own Easter Egg Hunt

Instead of paying for your children to attend an Easter egg hunt, hold your own in your backyard or at a local park. Pick up some colourful plastic eggs that you can fill yourself, and reuse from year to year. They also work for your furry friends—just replace the chocolate with dog treats and have an Easter ‘beg’ hunt.

Make Yummy Easter Treats

Seasonal cookie cutters and treat molds will help you to bake something that tastes delicious and looks adorable this year. A more affordable option than the local bakery or dessert at a fancy restaurant, you can reuse these supplies annually. Also, you get to spend quality time in the kitchen with your kids decorating the goodies.

Save on Easter Favours

Having an Easter party? Don’t blow your budget on pricey pre-made Easter favours. Instead, pick up our carrot-shaped favour bags and either fill them with seasonal treats, or non-edible alternatives like stickers and erasers.

Design Your Own Easter Arrangement

Easter wouldn’t be the celebration of the spring without flowers. However, floral arrangements can be expensive. A great alternative if you want to get mom some blooms or just want to make your Easter table look a bit prettier is to make your own. Pick up some simple cut flowers, a bunch or carrots, and a vase and you can create something amazing like this.

Enjoy an Easter Afternoon Tea

After all the hustle and bustle of what can be a very active Easter morning, it’s relaxing to spend the afternoon with a cup of tea and some sandwiches, scones, and sweets. However, this can be an extravagant indulgence if you go to a local hotel or teashop. Instead, our For Tea’s Sake teas and a few treats in the comfort of your own home are all you need to enjoy some well-deserved tranquility!

It’s almost here! With Easter long weekend just a few days from sight, many of us are getting ready for Easter egg hunts, family dinners, and spring activities. We’ve loaded up on all the chocolate and lets admit, we’ve likely already had to buy it twice because mom ate all of the mini eggs! Oftentimes one thing we forget is a small token of appreciation for our spouses, friends, or the host/hostess of that delicious Easter dinner. Or just a special treat for ourselves…because well we deserve it.

Keeping time and budget in mind, we’ve come up with five great gift ideas that are all under $20 to give you some inspiration.
