Years of schooling have finally come to an end. Whether its middle school, high school, or university, the feeling of relief and accomplishment a graduate experiences is tremendous. Thus, it’s time to celebrate all their years of hard work, and wish them well. A graduation party is a great way to launch a graduate into the next phase of their education, or into the world of work. Here are some suggestions for how to plan a party to remember.

Studying Makes You Hungry

Teens and young adults always have a good appetite. Be prepared for them with some delicious finger food and sweet treats at your graduation party. There are lots of recipes out there, but these graduation-themed delights are easy to make and are sure to be a hit. Graduation diplomas are really just wraps tied with a bit of ribbon. All you need are tortillas, cream cheese, cheddar, sliced beef, and green onions, and you’re ready to put together this great alternative to party sandwiches.

For a sweet treat, how about making some graduation cap cupcakes? These are basically mini brownies with chocolate pieces and candy on top. If you don’t feel like baking, you can buy bite-sized brownies, and all the other ingredients at the grocery store, and quickly assemble these whimsical delights.

It’s Selfie Time!

The perfect graduation party is worth remembering, and posting about on social media. So, help your guests get that Instagram-worthy pic by setting up a photo booth. You can easily create a backdrop that includes the graduation date, inspirational quotes, and flowers or greenery. Also, have a table with props like graduation caps, mustaches, or sunglasses cut out of cardboard and glued to sticks or straws. Set up a hashtag, too, so that guests can later find their photos on social media.

A Guest Book Worth Keeping

We’re all used to going to events where we sign a guest book. However, wouldn’t it be great if it weren’t just a generic item? Your graduate will want to keep something more personal, and look back on it in the years to come. Here are a few ideas:

  • The music fan: have guests sign a vinyl record by the graduate’s favourite band
  • The nature lover: ask guests to leave their mark on a piece of reclaimed wood or tree trunk
  • The traveller: create this globe guestbook and encourage your graduate to explore the world
